Narendra Jain’s original Hindi verses are a treat in this lovely picture book about a girl’s visit to the zoo.
The text is accompanied with engaging illustrations, clean but filled with little details that youngsters will love looking at again and again.
The book can be used to help children identify different kinds of animals and birds and their features.

The English translation is a bit of a disappointment, as the verses don’t have the same easy rhythm as the original Hindi.

CONCLUSION

A charming picture book for young readers, but the verses are perhaps best enjoyed in Hindi.
